The numerical value of the gauge size decreases
with the thickness of the wire. A #8 gauge wire is much thinner than #2 gauge
Don't be fooled by ads that refer to "Heavy #8 Gauge Wire." It is not heavy at
all. Remember if you want strong, thick wire, the lower the number the
wire shown on the left in the photo above is 8 gauge. The wire shown on
